Helga Stewart, Officiant

I am ordained by American Marriage Ministries, a non-profit, interfaith and non-denominational church. Being ordained through American Marriage Ministries means that I  have the authority to perform marriages.

As a wedding planner, I pride myself on the services that I provide and being an out-of-the-box thinker for any hiccups that may occur.  It is for this reason that I've become an ordained officiant; it's the perfect back-up plan for wedding day emergencies.  In the event that your designated officiant becomes unavailable, I am able to accommodate you by officiating your wedding ceremony.  Information about additional services can be obtaind by selecting the links below.

Gorjus Elopements
Weddings & Vow Renewals
Commitment Ceremonies

The word ‘Elope’ has historically meant "to run away secretly in a sudden and secretive fashion with the intention of getting married without parental consent or religious obligations.

In recent years, the act of ‘Eloping’ has also evolved to mean “two consenting adults planning a very small, intimate, & romantic wedding with just a witness and an officiant” as attendants. Eloping has become a more prevalent route to the “I do” and more & more, couples are deciding to go against grain of a traditional ceremony, choosing instead, elopement as their “elegant out-of-the-box alternative” of choice.

Your Story & FAQ

Weddings... Two people who vow to spend their lives together in marriage. It's a celebration of love and partnership with legal and/or religious significance – such as signing a state marriage license or a religious document or asking for God's blessings upon the marriage.

Vow Renewals... A way to celebrate your marriage. Perhaps you've made it to 2, 5, 10, 25 or 50 years together and you want the world to know you'd do it all over again. Maybe you got married religiously before and want to do it legally [or vice versa]; you've had some rocky times & want to reaffirm your commitment. ;you want a do-over because the first time around you couldn't afford it or maybe it was a disaster; you had a small intimate ceremony and want to renew your vows in front of family and friends,

Many people appreciate the ritual of a wedding even if they don’t want to (or can’t) get legally married. Some want to be married “in the eyes of God” but have reasons why a legal marriage is not a good option for them. Others want an opportunity to celebrate their love with their family and friends, or make vows to each other in a private ritual.

A Commitment Ceremony is simply a public affirmation of a couples commitment to one another who are unable to marry under the law or couple that just might not want to get legally married.  A commitment ceremony may be religious or secular, formal, traditional or untraditional and include the following elements:  Greetings, Vows, Readings|Music, Exchange of Rings, Pronouncement of Marriage, Reception.
